Custom mountain home exterior

— About Us

Built from the Ground Up

At Grand River Woodwork, craftsmanship is at the center of everything we do. We specialize in custom homes, high-end finishes, cabinetry, built-ins, and fine woodworking, bringing a detailed and thoughtful approach to every project.

  • Our Foundation

Founded by Mark Mueller, the company was built on more than 15 years of experience in woodworking and ground-up construction. Mark has always believed that a home should reflect the same level of care and precision found in fine finishes. That philosophy continues to guide every project we take on.

  • Our Team

Our team approaches each home with the same trained eye for detail that goes into our cabinetry and finish work. Whether we are crafting custom built-ins, designing cabinetry, or building a home from the ground up, we focus on creating spaces that feel refined, functional, and built to last.

  • Locally Owned

Grand River Woodwork is a locally owned, family-run company serving homeowners throughout Grand County and Summit County in Colorado, with projects in Routt County and Eagle County as well.

  • Commitment to Quality

We work closely with a trusted group of skilled subcontractors and local partners who share our commitment to quality. Supporting the communities we build in is important to us, which is why we prioritize local suppliers and local trades whenever possible.

  • Our Goal

Our goal is simple: deliver exceptional craftsmanship and thoughtful construction that homeowners can enjoy for generations.

— Quality at our core

Quality Home Construction

We are a custom home builder based in Kremmling, Colorado. We specialize in building homes from the ground up — designed for mountain living and built to last a lifetime. Every project uses the finest materials, matched with the craftsmanship to back it up.

— Our Process

How It Works

At Grand River Woodwork, we believe that great projects are built on clear communication, thoughtful planning, and strong craftsmanship. From the first conversation to the final finishes, our goal is to make the building process smooth, collaborative, and enjoyable.

1

1. Initial Conversation

Every project begins with a conversation. We take the time to learn about your goals, ideas, and vision for your home. Whether you’re planning a custom home, cabinetry, or interior woodwork, this first step helps us understand what matters most to you.

We’ll also discuss the scope of the project, timeline expectations, and how we can best support your build.

2. Planning & Collaboration

Once we have a clear understanding of the project, we begin coordinating with the full project team to ensure everything is thoughtfully planned before construction begins. At Grand River Woodwork, we work closely with architects, designers, engineers, and our trusted subcontractors to align details, timelines, and expectations early in the process.

Successful projects require more than just scheduling subcontractors and material deliveries. Many projects also involve HOA approvals, permitting, inspections, and coordination with your personal schedule. Because of this, we place a strong emphasis on planning and communication so that every part of the project comes together smoothly and fits seamlessly into the final result.

Whether it’s a kitchen, mudroom, bathroom, or specialty space, we focus on clean lines, durable construction, and furniture-grade finishes. Custom built-ins allow us to create spaces that feel intentional and tailored to the home.
Every project is built with the same level of precision and attention to detail that defines all of our work. The result is woodwork that feels seamless, timeless, and built specifically for the space.

High-End Finish Carpentry

Finish carpentry is where the details truly matter. This stage of construction ties the entire home together, and it’s where craftsmanship becomes most visible.
With more than 15 years of carpentry experience from founder Mark Mueller, our team specializes in high-quality finish work including trim, paneling, custom millwork, and detailed interior wood elements.
We approach every finish with the mindset of furniture craftsmanship, ensuring clean lines, tight joinery, and refined results that elevate the entire home.
